On December 16, 2024, I received an email informing me that I had won a 2024 International Impact Book Award for my book “The Overlife, A Tale Of Schizophrenia” by Diana Dirkby. You’ll recall that my novel is about a mother and daughter both living with paranoid schizophrenia, which is something my mother and I lived with and I still live with myself. I immediately emailed the organizers of the award to thank them and received a warm response: “Welcoming me to the International Impact Book Award family.” This news significantly boosted my New Year, sending me into 2025 feeling supported and part of a large group of authors with diverse yet compatible goals. The International Impact Book Award is an award giver and a charitable organization. To learn more, you can visit their website: https://internationalimpactbookawards.com/.
The International Impact Book Awards encourage authors of any genre and at any stage of their careers, from beginners to veterans, to be judged independently of any hierarchical criteria. They hold a Gala a few times a year, during which award recipients can attend a pedagogical conference in the day and a dinner in the evening, where they can mix and network with well-established artists impacting the world of writing. The next gala is on February 2025, and the one after that is on April 26, 2025.
Nim Stant is the Founder of the International Impact Book Awards. In her own words: “At the International Impact Book Awards, our mission is to celebrate and recognize the exceptional work of authors from around the world.
