An Australian foster story circa 1900

Diana Dirkby is a pen name for Paula Tretkoff who worked for 40 years as a research mathematician. Diana was born and raised in Australia. She worked as an internationally recognized research mathematician before retiring early to spend more time with her spouse. This fiction novel is Diana Dirkby’s third. Her first novel focused on schizophrenia, with which she lives. Her second novel focused on sibling abuse, of which she is a survivor. In this her third fiction novel, she bases her material on the experiences of her maternal grandfather Frank Dvoretsky Cohen, who was abandoned by his birth parents in Victoria, Australia, about 1903, and was then put into the foster care network, along with his siblings. The novel is based on the oral history handed down by her mother and aunts, and the genealogical history found on sites like Ancestry | Family Tree, Genealogy & Family History Records , Join the World Family Tree – Geni.com , and Free Family Tree, Genealogy, Family History, and DNA Testing . Its focus is the plight of foster children circa 1900, which is still relevant to the foster experience today.
